Originally created by a fellow dentist to give back and help keep cavity creepy crawlies at bay, this program partners with Move America Forward and Operation Shoebox and other organizations as a warm "thank you" to American soldiers serving overseas and other deserving folks. With seamless steps to starting a Candy Buyback Program at your practice, SmileMakers is here to help you treat our troops, build connections with patients, and fend off fiendish sugar bugs this fall.
How Does the Candy Buyback Work?
All treats and no tricks, the Candy Buyback Program is a piece of pumpkin pie. Little ones will trade in excess Halloween candy for cash or fun toys and other giveaways that promote great oral hygiene. After you've collected the candy, send it off to the nonprofit veterans organization of your choice to surprise those who serve our country so well with a sweet treat from home.
How to Set Up Your Candy Buyback Program:
1. Find a Donation Station
In addition to donating directly to Move America Forward or Operation Shoebox, Candy Buybacks offer lots of opportunities to team up with local homeless shelters, nursing homes, assisted living facilities, and nearby charities. By finding a donation station that's eager to support the cause, you can make a positive impact in your community and beyond.
2. Spread the Word on Social
Now that you've selected your donation station, it's time to spread the word on social media! Whether it's sharing fun video reels and stories or posting festive photos, your practice's Instagram and Facebook profiles allow you to share all the details of your upcoming Candy Buyback Program in real time. Your patients will love seeing their dentist's friendly face and feel more encouraged to visit your office, and you'll catch the attention of prospective patients through those fang-tastic social posts!
3. Offer Your Patients Goody Bags & Toys in Exchange for Their Leftover Candy
